The MissionTo engage, inspire and transform underserved youth using aviation as a launching pad.
Our vision is to partner with extraordinary leaders and shape brighter futures through aviation, mentorship, and community. We aspire to create the next generation of leaders. We Are ADPOV - A Different Point Of View |
|
LeadershipThrough our programs, youth come away with a new understanding that they are the captains of their ships and the variety of options the aviation world has to offer. They gain self-confidence, self-advocacy and the belief that they can succeed in the world. Our purpose is to give them the tools to live a full and meaningful life. A student walks in to a supportive community and walks out with tools to navigate their decision making skills. They truly learn that the sky is NOT the limit!
|
MentorshipA mentor is an experienced, trusted advisor and is needed across the span of human development. Studies have proven that students perform better with the guidance of a mentor. Our program finds it crucial to surround students with role models. A healthy relationship pivots towards healthy lifestyles, making these relationships life changing. Our students can find support, positive feedback, and guidance through each interaction with the adult allies who care about the wellbeing of each student. Just like an airport tower guides an aircraft for landing, mentors guide students to their path.

Community A Different Point of View collaborates with many organizations to provide a spectrum of support for youth. These collaborations provide an array of county-wide programs to students allowing ADPOV to provide a holistic approach to all that participate. Much of our donations come from community members who see the impact A Different Point Of View has on creating sustainable communities.

STUDENT TESTIMONIAL
Soraya
My name is Soraya. There was a time in my life I struggled believing in myself. At 13 I was already incarcerated for some serious charges. One day my probation officer brought me and 4 other girls to ADPOV’s Aviation Career Program in 2012. They taught me a different side of the world I didn’t know about. That world was a better life with hope and joy. They taught me that I could have a life that was good. Before that time I didn’t believe in myself because everyone would tell me I wouldn’t amount to anything. The program taught me skills, various career paths, and many other things. I was the first person in my family to graduate high school and when I did they came to the ceremony. I have now started my own journey to success. I have a job, a car and am enrolled full time in college. |
